Motivated by his commitment to building empathetic communities of the future, Cole creates music to inspire and enrich lives. Based in New York City, Cole Habekost is a sought-after interpreter of contemporary music and has premiered dozens of works for solo violin or chamber ensemble since 2020.
As a teacher, Cole leads a private violin studio where he guides students in developing both technical mastery and mindful practice habits that extend far beyond music. He founded Riverwalk Arts Camp, a string camp for young musicians aged thirteen to eighteen that blends mindfulness with music, reflecting his belief that focused attention enhances both music and daily life.
Cole earned a Master’s Degree from the Manhattan School of Music in Contemporary Violin and a Bachelor’s Degree and Graduate Studies Diploma in Violin from Bowling Green State University. He won the BGSU Concerto Competition, BGSU Chamber Music Competition, and was a recipient of the Paul Makara Violin Scholarship and Bernice M. Coulon Special Achievement Award.
